NOTICE ON THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA FOR THE PROMOTION OF PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
John Cabot University, headquartered in Rome, Italy at Via della Lungara, 233, as Data Controller, informs you, pursuant to Article 13 of EU Regulation No. 2016/679 (hereinafter “GDPR”), that your data will be processed in the following ways and for the following purposes:
Subject of Processing
The Data Controller processes only personal and identifying data (name, surname, address, telephone number, e-mail) of the data subject.
Purpose of Processing
Your personal data is processed for the purpose of promoting the University’s services and products through the sending of e-mails, mail and/or SMS and/or phone calls, newsletters, etc.
Methods of Processing
The processing of your personal data is carried out through the operations indicated in Article 4, No. 2 of the GDPR, specifically: collection, registration, organization, storage, consultation, processing, modification, selection, extraction, comparison, use, interconnection, blocking, communication, deletion, and destruction of data.
Your personal data is processed both in paper form and electronically and/or automatically.
The Data Controller will process personal data for the time necessary to fulfill the above purposes and, in any case, for no longer than 3 years from the date consent is granted. After this period, the Data Controller will contact you again to request renewed consent.
Access to Data
Your data may be made accessible for the purposes indicated above:
- To employees and collaborators of the Data Controller in Italy and abroad, in their capacity as internal data processors and/or system administrators;
- To third-party companies or other entities performing outsourced activities on behalf of the Data Controller, in their capacity as external data processors. The updated list of processors and sub-processors is kept at the Data Controller’s registered office.
Disclosure of Data
Your personal data will only be disclosed to entities duly designated as external data processors and to public authorities where there is a legal obligation or upon their request.
Your data will not be disseminated.
Data Transfer
Personal data is stored on servers located within the European Economic Area. The Data Controller ensures that any transfer of data to non-EU countries, if necessary, will be carried out in compliance with applicable legal provisions, subject to the signing of standard contractual clauses established by the European Commission.
Nature of Data Provision and Consequences of Refusal
Providing data for the above purposes is optional but necessary for promotional activities. You may decide not to provide any data or to revoke consent for the processing of data previously provided; in such cases, you will not receive information or communications related to the above purposes.
Rights of the Data Subject
You may exercise the rights provided by Articles 15 et seq. of the GDPR, including:
- access to your personal data;
- rectification or integration of data;
- deletion or restriction of data;
- data portability;
- objection to data processing.
To exercise these rights, you may email the University’s designated DPO at: privacy@johncabot.edu.
If you deem it appropriate, pursuant to Article 77 of the GDPR, you may contact the Italian Data Protection Authority.
